“Your inbox is empty”
This might be the most lovely sentence in the English language. Empty. As in all 2600+ email messages are GONE. So long. Buh bye.
I sat down Sunday night and got serious about cleaning up my email. Mostly because it involved sitting and partly because having all that email just sitting there was taunting me and giving me angst. I knew I couldn’t read them all yet what if there was something incredibly important I would miss? Like, “20 ways to brush your dog”, or “10 steps to finding your inner pig.” Come on, who couldn’t use that advice?
So maybe they weren’t quite that inane but keeping this stuff in my inbox only meant that if there was something important, I might miss it. So I went through the most recent email and filed in into folders if it was important. Then I went to deleting. I had over 2600 emails dating back to some time in 2011!! And thats with deleting email on a daily basis. Good grief!
I feel much lighter now. A little less anxious. I know all those newsletters and such exist out there somewhere and if we are meant to meet up again we will. Or, if I find I need something I can always Google it. In the mean time I am going to enjoy my empty inbox and all the space I now have to breathe. Ahhhh….
What’s in your inbox?
Have a clutter free day!
